HARTINGTON PLACE—This cabinet was designed by Malcolm Fraser for his collection of family mementos. It was constructed using FSC Tulipwood and was finished with a brilliant white eggshell paint. The door is hinged and the contents protected by a sheet of laminated safety glass.

They piled up on our mantlepiece in a mess of dust: old toys – mine, the children’s and even one of my Dad’s – souveniers from holidays, badges, favourite pebbles, daft Christmas presents, bits of old buildings and our old, scrapped car… from plastic rubbish to moral emblems.
Colin made them a beautiful cabinet and I arranged them on the shelves and slowly swung the door and clicked the catch… and they were suddenly, completely and beautifully at home."
